Sherwood Island is a Connecticut State Park located in Westport. In addition to an extensive salt marsh, Sherwood Island has dune and sandy beach habitats, as well as sandbars and tidepools. Using seine nets, students can capture and observe some of the animals found in shallow water areas. Directly facing Long Island Sound, Sherwood Island's unprotected beaches provide great strand line flora and fauna.
