Cosmic's Yo-Yo Tricks
By Judith Bernstein

Yet another school vacation period is right around the corner. And if your family's not packing up for a vacation trip, parents are more than likely going to hear these spine-chilling words -- "I'm bored!" -- sometime during the school-free days surrounding Easter and Passover.

But fear not! Cosmic's Yo-Yo Tricks can keep kids occupied for at least part of that time. Not only that, a bit of practice with the wooden or plastic toys that come at the end of a string may have youngsters eliciting some impressive ooohs and aaaahs from the crowd back in the schoolyard once classes are back in session.

True, the site does shill a bit for its very own Cosmic Yo-Yo, which you can order online, but the rest of what's here more than makes up for the commercial message. The site is organized by type of trick, with variations grouped together. The tricks range from the familiar Rock the Baby and Walk the Dog to some pretty snappy offerings that sport names like Trapeze, Braintwister and Pinwheel.

Tricks are grouped by difficulty, marked with one to five stars that indicate levels ranging from beginner to professional. A whole group of tricks "require other people, furniture, pets and clothing" if you want to pull them off. There are even a few suggestions for what you can do with a "dead" yo-yo.

Cosmic also lists books on yo-yos you might like to read, and explains why transaxle yo-yos are good if you're interested in doing complicated tricks. All in all, you can have a rolling good time here!
