Our Living World is a website where students, community members, teachers, and parents can find information and programs about environmental issues and curricula. We are currently hosting 2 programs which are geographically based in the New York Metropolitan region, but which may be of interest to people everywhere. As time goes on we will expland our offerings and programs.

SoundView is a field and technology based program which integrates News 12 editorials about the Long Island Sound and related environmental issues with 4 grade levels of integrated curriculum. Classes will visit a local SoundView nature center where they will note site characteristics and take measurements of air and water. Back in their classrooms, students will analyse the data and post it to a database on the website for inclusion in the SoundView data archive which will be avialable for use by students, teachers, environmentalists, and community members. Students will also be able to discuss the data (Online) with other participating schools and continue their explorations with supplemental classroom and Online activites.
Organizations contributing to SoundView include The Queens College Center for Environmental Teaching and Research, Save the Sound, Friends of the Bay, Stoneybrook University, Long Island Team, Sweetbriar Nature Center, Garvies Point Preserve, Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary, and others.
